Two Hill Lochs From Above
A Hill Loch Trout Of 3lbs 8oz
|
The weather during April and early May was very
changeable with North and East winds being all too frequent. But in the period between the cold winds when the sun shone, fishing was quite good and rewards were there for those who persevered and fished with imagination. Sink tips and intermediate lines were more successful than floaters and slow retrieve seemed to tempt more fish than the quicker retrieve. That being said the returns show good catches with 1295 brown trout caught and 15 seatrout/finnock. On the 17th April Colin Findlay took a nice fish of 1lb 12 oz off Findlaysons on Mhuirt beat and Gus Greenlees took one of 1lb 6oz from the same loch. Also on the 17th April Steve Wright had a very good fish of 4lb 4oz from Loch Na Thull. Mr. Davidson caught a brown trout of 2lb 4oz from Eilanach on the 13th May. The Gayton/Miles party one of 2lb from Mid Chain on 18th May. John Gregory a 2lb fish from Eilanach on the 20th May. Alistair Anderson another 2lb fish from Na Thull on the 25th May. Colin Munro a nice bag of 3 fish to 4lb 1oz off Blarloch Mor on 27th May. And Colin took another great bag of 5 fish to 7lb 1oz best being 1lb 13oz on 29th May off Hush II. Also on the 29th two good fish of 2lb 2oz and 1lb 3oz off Na Thull by Mr. Handscombe. There was evidence of early salmon in Loch Stack with 2 fish being lost and several more seen by Mac Stevenson. We are now looking for some rain to fill the rivers and burns now that the warm weather is here. Tight lines, Patrick
