The poor summer weather continued for august with the cold winds, low cloud and unseasonal rain.

The Trout fishing however held up well with 784 brown trout caught on the hotel waters for the month. The best fish for the month was 3lb 12oz to Sue Bourne. Sue also caught the best Salmon so far this year, a splendid cock fish of 21lb, this also happened to be her first salmon. What a great catch !!

Sea Trout/Finnock numbers also held up for the month with 186 caught and returned. All the fish were in perfect condition with no apparent fin damage.

Salmon caught for the month were also consistant with 12 salmon coming off Loch Stack. 5 cock fish were kept the remainder being either hens or coloured were returned.

5 Salmon were caught on another North West Salmon River by hotel guests, 3 of which were returned and one other from a local migratory system, making our total for the month 18, the majority of these fish were returned.
