Quite a good season in all, with improvements in the amount of salmon caught and seen on Loch Stack and very positive improvements in seatrout/finnock.

Brown trout returns were impressive with many fish over 3lb caught. Our largest fish was 4lb 12oz caught by Jane Meech off Freigairt Beat and wins the Trophy this year, plus of course the bottle of malt.

The largest salmon caught off Stack by a hotel guest was 14lb and caught by John Freeman his name goes on the Ghillies Trophy plus of course a bottle of malt.

Our final catch for the year was as follows:-

4631 Brout Trout 421 Seatrout/Finnock 24 Salmon.

Our best Seatrout was 5lb 8oz to Mr. G. Stenhouse. The Stenhouse's (father and son) persevered in a week with no water, but night fishing they managed 14 Seatrout best 5lb 8oz, next 4lb 2oz, a good result off the River Polla.

Unfortunately during the last week of September or early October our fishing log from 1952 to the 1970's was stolen. Judy and I are devastated as many guests, and others regularly look at these records for names of relatives and friends who caught fish here and now may no longer be with us . If anyone has any information where it might be I would like to know. I am sure a reward is available as we now do not have complete records from 1912 through to the present time.
