Don Montgomery with the biggest Salmon from Loch Stack 2002

That was the story of July 2003. Everyone further south seemed to be awash with the stuff, we did not get enough to wet the road never mind putting water in the rivers.

I am told by the keepers, and can see with my own eyes, that there are many fish waiting to run but cannot due to water levels, the seals must be having a field day!

We must get water in August surely?

Brown Trout for the month 834 - worthy of mention is Richard Franklin who took some super bags: 4 trout to 8lb 10oz - best 3lb 12oz on 15/7 off Mid Chain: 1 of 3lb on 8/7 off Nan Uidh: 1 of 1lb 10oz on 16/7 off Ishbel and 1 of 1lb 10oz on 19/7 off Dour to mention just a few.

The Franklin party also caught 9 salmon off that river with a funny name plus 3 sea trout (some salmon and sea trout were returned).

Mrs. Susan Montgomery caught 2 nice sea trout of 3lb 8oz off Loch Stack on 19/7 and 3lb 4oz off that funny river (Stack fish returned).

Total sea trout/finnock for the system 129. Total salmon off Stack 1 with over 12 fish lost!!!
