July has been an overcast month with very little sun and well
below average temperatures. The wind seems to have been in the north or North East for a considerable part of the month so trout fishing has been slow. 845 Brown Trout were recorded during the month with the following catches worthy of mention; Colin Munro 1 of 3lb 2oz and 2lb 12oz plus a bag of 4 fish for 6lb 13oz. Mr Lewis took a nice Brownie of 2lb 15oz. John Marshall had a great day with 1 of 4lb 2oz and another over 2lb. R.G.Jones had a nice fish of 3lb 12oz from the same beat. In addition a number of fish over 2lb were caught during the month. 86 Sea Trout/Finnock were gaught and returned mainly off L Stack and L More. 7 Salmon came from Stack during the month; 6.5lb to the Curry Party 6lb;4lb;5lb;5lb to Hubert Henzler 6lb;5.5lb to Michael Wycherley. 32 salmon were caught from a local river( 29 returned ).and 4 Seatrout ( best 3.5lb ) by the Franklin Party Tight Lines Patrick |
