Quite a cold July with daytime temperatures rarely
exceeding 17 degrees centigrade kept the water temperatures down which will
help the fishing during August and September. Although insect hatches have
been spasmodic during the month, water levels have been good and grilse runs
seem to be reasonable.
The Brown Trout returns in the book for the month are 1683 fish, worthy of note are the following:- 3lb 1oz & 3lb 4oz to Colin Munro on the same day 7lb to Ray Gwyn Jones 3lb 8oz to Colin Munro 3lb to Cathel Mcleod 2½lb to Colin Findlay 3lb 11oz & 3lb 6oz to Richard Franklin 2lb 9oz to Colin Munro A good number of trout in the 2lb range were caught during the month.
