A nice Brown Trout taken in June
The waterfall at Coire a Mhadaidh

This must have been one of the coldest and wettest Junes on record and all of our guests need congratulating for sticking it out, and producing some very good catches. That must show the quality of our fishers! Or something!! Anyway, the Brown trout caught for the month totalled 1451. A selection of some of the best fish caught is as follows: FREAGAIRT BEAT NAN UIDH BEAT CLASH FEARNA BEAT SEDGWICKS BEAT DOUR BEAT The Salmon conservation policy on Loch Stack is that all hen fish must be
returned, in addition the first fish caught must be returned regardless of gender, the
second fish may be kept providing it is a fresh cock fish. That having been said the Loch has fished well this month, as our salmon tend to run in July, August and September as a rule; 4 Salmon have been caught to Mac Stevensons boat, 3 having been returned, the weights were 15lb,71/2,and 5lb on 28th June and 171/2lb on the 30th June. A 5lb Grilse was also caught on that often mispronounced river to Mr.Roy Clarke
(in low water conditions) must have been the only few days it didn't rain in the month. Tight lines Patrick |
