A September Brown Trout

A slightly better month than August although, when other parts of the country seemed to be getting heavy rain, we hardly managed a day or so of drizzle. As a result the rivers were very low and any fish running had raw belly's and gravel rash.

617 Brown Trout were recorded in total. The Sea Trout/Finnock fared well with some good returns to most rods. 115 were caught and returned - best 3llbs 4oz and 2lbs 12oz to Chris Cobb and 3lbs to Patrick Price. 21 Salmon were taken off Stack together with a local river, the best being: 3 fish heaviest 10lbs 12oz. to the Woodhall party and 3 fish best 7lbs 4oz to Bob Jeavons and Rodney Bueler (of the coral pink socks). The Franklin party also had 10 fish  - best 12lbs.

The best Brown Trout, and this years winner of the "Ian Hay Trophy", was taken by Paul Twambley and weighed in at 4lbs 5oz. Well done Paul and a bottle of malt will be in the post.

The best Salmon off Stack and winner of the "Ghillies Cup" was a 14lb fish to Alan Maden, again well done Alan and a bottle of malt will be in the post.
